Sagittaria platyphylla is commonly known as Chilensis or Broad Leaf Sagittaria is a wide blade, grass-like plant. It is colored green, grows fast and can be placed in a variety of locations within the aquarium. Reproduction with this plant occurs through runners set out by the plant, or by seed production. It is a medium hardy plant that needs a lot of nourishment. If allowed to grow out of the water, it will produce oval leaves on petioles with white flowers.
